Thursday Week I Vespers...

Propter hoc orabit ad te omnis sanctus
in tempore opportuno.
Et in diluvio aquarum multarum
ad eum non approximabunt.
Tu es refugium meum,
a tribulatione conservabis me;
exsultationibus salutis circumdabis me.

Intellectum tibi dabo
et instruam te in via, qua gradieris;
firmabo super te oculos meos.
- Psalmus 32.

So let every good man pray to you
in the time of need.
The floods of water may reach high
but him they shall not reach.
You are my hiding place, O Lord;
you save  me from distress.
You surround me with cries of deliverance.

I will instruct you and teach you
the way you should go;
I will give you counsel
with my eye upon you.
- Psalm 32

Michael - I hope this isn't a cry for help! Studies aren't that bad are they ;) I imagine you're thinking of all of the pressing concerns we face in the world of politics, economics etc. and how so many people these days can feel "the floods of water reaching high." Well, to that a hearty AMEN - - Solo Dios Basta!!

Nick, no, it's from the Liturgia Horarum.

Koeth, these few verses struck me during vespers last night. Yes, I had a bit of a mini-crisis Tuesday and Wednesday with Greek. It is ridiculous. But I had a good heart-to-heart with the prof and I now have some hope in my heart. I'm not concerned about hard work, just impossible work. Amazing how things changed within a 24 hour period, for the better.

Well I'm glad that the mini-crisis was somewhat resolved and that hope is restored. You and all our brothers in studies are in my daily prayers . . . especially as I (nervously) come closer to embarking on studies myself. Our Lady Seat of Wisdom, Pray for Us!!
