On Saturday, August 29th Kevin G. Grove, CSC and Gerry J. Olinger, CSC professed their final vows in the Congregation of Holy Cross. Joined by hundreds of family, friends, and fellow Holy Cross religious in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at Notre Dame, the two professed "forever the vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience according to the constitutions of the Congregation of Holy Cross".The next morning the two were ordained to the Order of the Diaconate at the hands of Bishop John M. D'Arcy, D.D. of the Diocese of Fort Wayne - South Bend. The Mass was celebrated in the Moreau Seminary chapel.
Rev. Mr. Grove serves as deacon at St. Joseph Parish in downtown South Bend. Rev. Mr. Olinger serves as deacon at the University of Portland in Oregon.
The two will be ordained to the priesthood on Easter Saturday during the Easter Octave. Congratulations to Kevin and Gerry. Thank you for your commitment to Christ and His holy Church!
